John Snow Inc Job Vacancy 2015: Project accountant needed

John Snow Inc is based in the united state of America and happens to be a public health consulting firm and manages two (2) projects/contracts through its integrated office in Abuja, Nigeria. Through the Partnership for Supply Chain Management consortium, JSI implements the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project for the US Government as part of the United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The purpose is to establish and operate a safe, secure, reliable and sustainable supply chain management system to procure pharmaceuticals and other products needed for the care and treatment of persons with HIV/AIDS and related infections. 

JSI is recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description
The Project Accountant will works under the guidance of the Associate Director Finance and Administration and overall supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration. Specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:

1   .Manage the JSI field accounts system, review chart of accounts, generate Quickbook reports as needed for project reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
2.  Regularly update QuickBooks, prepare bank account reconciliation and resolve account variances in compliance with all US Government (USG)and JSI
financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
3.  Provide support and guidance to program and other administrative staff in accordance with JSI policy and procedures, including travelling to field offices, training sites and other field locations when required.

Job Skills and Qualification required for this Vacancy at John Snow Inc
The applicant must possess B.Sc. degree in accounting or financial management in order to be considered at John Snow Inc.
The applicant must have 3-5 years financial management  working experience
Experience with Quickbooks is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
Experience and knowledge of Nigerian tax laws
Financial experience with a USAID-funded project and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations would be an advantage
Excellent verbal and written English.
