The incumbent will perform some or all of the following duties:
Action Against Hunger | ACF-International works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.
Job title: management information system officer
Job Location: Borno
The Management Information System (MIS) Officer will play a key role in implementing the food for peace Programme (FFP) a project being implemented by Action Against Hunger (ACF). The MIS Officer’s role will be largely limited to the establishment, management and capacity building of local staff on project information system for greater project reporting and overall impact. From October 2015- to May 2016, FFP will provide 5000 to 6000 bene an unconditional grant of for 7 months in Borno state in a bid to contribute to the eradication of extreme hunger, malnutrition and poverty in Northern Nigeria.
Summary of Key Objectives:
• Management and maintenance of an integrated MIS into the FFP to ensure compliance with donor objectives and methodology.
• Ensure proper and timely implementation, management and capacity building on MIS
• Document good practice from planning, implementation, and management of MIS
• Represent ACF in relevant local forums and technical working groups where necessary
Qualifications;
Bachelor Degree in IT, MIS or related field. Higher level degree preferred.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and culturally sensitive
• Minimum two years’ experience working with donor funded programming
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programming (Access, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word)
• Proven ability to create management information systems for large amounts of data within a complex program
UNICEF is recruiting to fill the following vacant positions in Abuja and Borno.
Job Title: Unicef child protection emergencies specialist P-4
Job Location: Abuja
The Child Protection Specialist reports to the Chief Child Protection for general guidance and direction. The Specialist supports the Chief in the managing the Section and contributing to knowledge development/innovation and for developing and preparing child protection (and/or integrated/complex/key) programs/projects. The Specialist provides authoritative technical guidance/operational support throughout all stages of programming to facilitate the management and delivery of concrete and sustainable UNICEF contribution to national and international efforts to create a protective environment for children against all harm and to protect their rights to survival, development and well being as established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international treaties/framework and UN intergovernmental bodies.
The Specialist contributes to achievement of concrete and sustainable programs/projects results according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM) and UNICEF's Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework
Key Expected Results
1. Management and advisory support to the Chief
Provide advice to the Chief in establishing the annual work plan including developing strategies and determining priorities/targets and performance measurements. Coordinate work progress monitoring and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards and report to Chief critical issues for timely action.
Provide technical assistance/advice to colleagues in the Section on all aspects of programming and implementation to enable colleagues to achieve program/performance objectives
Perform the full duties of the Chief in his/her absence.
2. Program development and planning
Plan and/or provide technical assistance and operational support to the preparation/design and conduct/update of situation analysis to ensure that current comprehensive and evidence based data on child protection issues are available to guide UNICEF’s strategic policy advocacy, intervention and development efforts on child rights and protection and to set program priorities, strategies, design and implementation plans.
